I've been working with Umbraco since before 4.0, and currently 4.7 is the smoothest experience of them all. Very nice work, keep it up.

As always beautiful install, simple setup and configuration. Umbraco is so simple to use in 5 minutes you can have example blog or company site.

Great release, with a straightforward upgrade from 4.5! Thanks for adding razor and keeping everything else working as usual. About the "no documentation" comments, why don't you guys check out the free videos and our.umbraco.org? You'll be up and running much faster this way than you would have been by reading endless texts.

In some ways Umbraco works better than another, commercial and "enterprise-expensive" CMS I have been working with.
I miss structured documentation. When I google for info I wind up on the old forum half of the time and at some videos I have to pay to watch the rest of the time.
The community somewhat makes up for that. When I post questions, I get answers within an hour or two every time.

Been working with Umbraco and replacing our own CMS for one year now, and I must say that it has been god for business! With Umbraco we have gone from 2 to 5 emplyees.
We love everything about it, and especially the vitality of the community! Enjoy!

I love this version of Umbraco for its stability and new features like Razor but hey, I love the previous versions too. It keeps getting better and better and lets not forget to mention the best part: it has brought me 2,5 years of BUSINESS, happy customers and great coding fun.

Umbraco V4.7 is the best version yet. Very stable, easy to use.
The best thing it is Open Source, which makes it a lot easier to handle code problems in your own code, when you can spot what Umbraco is doing.
Keep up the good Work.

@boban984, it is *free* and *open-source* - source is freely downloadable from the "Source Code" tab above - read the License tab if you don't believe it.
It's also the most stable, fastest, and most powerful release of Umbraco yet - the Macro Container datatype alone is worth the download, never mind the support for MySQL, SQL Compact, Razor, and more. Kudos to the core!

With the Razor support, this must be the best release ever. The back-end UI is faster also!
Just want to mention that "Hard coded SQL connection details" are simply not true. Nothing is hard coded, in fact the installer does a good job helping you setup the system.

We're having all our production sites upgraded to and running great on 4.7. And for newcomers: Razor + Sql CE + Starterkits makes the start really fun and smooth! (Q's / docs-> check out our.umbraco.org).

Been using Umbraco for 2 solid years. Every client I have has had NOTHING bad to say about Umbraco. Version 4.7 is a solid release. If you have questions, you will be surprised by the amazing support you get at http://our.umbraco.org. Most questions answered within a few hours of posting. I was a long time DNN users.. have become a true Umbraco supporter and never looked back.. Umbraco Rocks!

I've been using 4.7 for a while now and it's the best and most stable version EVER. The Razor support is amazing and all the other new features that are part of 4.6 and 4.7 make is so much easier for developers. I love this version :).

@boboan984, @yespgg - see the changeset link in the heading box above. Follow this link, and click the "Download" button on the right. This gives you the source zip for the release. The source tree here is the authoritative source for the project, and external contributions are welcomed. I don't think it gets more open.
@rdunzl, check out our.umbraco.org for docs and a very helpful forum.

Umbraco is getting better and better, and I use it all the time. It's just a shame that the starter kits are so buggy when using SQL CE.

"Known issues Currently no (0) known issues"
This is always intressting. As always there is no problems with anything in Umbraco.
Just dowloaded, started the installation, choose my database (MSSQL) and give it user/pass etc. Start the installation. Whoola, the progressbar just show
-1%
And nothing more, great error checking.I´ll just guess that no one ever got this error before. :-)

Deploying now (: The Umbraco project goes from strength to strength, with a ever more mature approach to fast turn around of bug fixes and community involvement. Laurie x
p.s @logicalcom - hardcoded? just edit the web.config, nothing is hardcoded, well apart from the code I guess ;)

Hard coded SQL connection details! Had to change my database name to DATABASE and create an admin user called USER with PASS for a password... come on, Umbraco is being used on SQL Server still!

I've been using and debugging the nightlies for this release and I was happy to use it for a production site. Now with the last few bugs fixed, this is THE best release of Umbraco to date. The Razor implementation is going to be a game-changer.
