 Reviews for this release

Really enjoying working with this CMS so far. Short but steep learning curve that has a pay-off. If you have ever though "I wish my end-users could edit content on this site, but it is too complicated a site to implement in your average CMS system," then give Umbraco a try.

This is excellent. The improved tree, better performance and syntax highlighting was a much anticipated improvement to the very best parsimonious cms

How do I install this? What do I do with the files after I unzip them? == Edit: Here's a newbie guide: http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/how-tos/newbie-guide-how-to-install-the-45-binaries-on-localhost == By the way, the Microsoft Web Platform Installer (http://www.microsoft.com/web/Downloads/platform.aspx) works OK, but it installs Umbraco v 4.0. That should be updated to the current release.

This is excellent - very quick to install and easy to configure. I highly recomend the webdeploy method, the first couple tries doing it manually I kept screwing something up and was having problems with the control panel. Webdeploy took less than 10 minutes from start to running! It takes care of all the nitty gritty config settings and permissions - perfect install.

So far I am LOVING this release. It is fast. The tree remembers where you are. I want to point out that the actual xml node name has become the @nodeTypeAlias. I spent Ages looking for the alias as I didn't even think to look at the node name! Same deal with fields/properties. This change makes XSLT SO MUCH MORE SUCCINCT!!!!! I love it.

App_browsers.dll problem encountered

Was unable to install v4.5 or v4.1 until someone finally pointed out that you can right click the zip file, choose properties and then click "Unblock". This is what I had to do to get it installed properly. Hopefully this step can be removed in the future to avoid a lot of confusion for a lot of people.
