Commented Issue: upload datatype does not create thumbnails when uploading image with uppercase extension [30815]

I've tested this on umb 4.7.1.1

when i upload an image with an *lowercase* file extension with the upload datatype, a thumbnail is generated alongside the uploaded file so that it can be viewed in the backend.

when i upload an image with an *uppercase* file extension with the upload datatype, the thumbnail is NOT generated.

I think the code that detects the file extension should be made case insensitive.

Comments: I've also found that on my installation the image is created, but it's given the wrong filename. for example, if I upload a file called 'P1010290.JPG' it will be saved as 'xxxx-P1010290.JPG.jpg'. This is obviously different than the system is expecting.

Closed Issue: Template disappears and site does not work [30785]

I have a fresh install of Umbraco 5.0.1, and this has occurred twice so far. I created a Template and a Document Type. Then created a Content page. Returned later to work on the Template, and at some point, it just disappeared.

The site goes completely broken, and I have to completely reinstall Umbraco.

Anbody else having this problem?

Is there any easy fix without reinstalling?

After setting assembly binding redirections in web.config, I could start installing V5 but kept running into the above exception on MVC 4.0 Beta.

Here is the error message:
